Professor of Instructional Technology at Bloomsburg University

Karl M. Kapp, Ed.D., is a scholar, writer, and expert on the convergence of learning, technology and business with a focus on game-thinking, games, gamification and artificial intelligence for human learning. Karl is an award-winning professor at Commonwealth University in Bloomsburg, PA and author or co-author of eight books including “The Gamification of Learning and Instruction” and “Play to Learn.” He is a senior researcher on a grant sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and has served as Co-Principle Investigator on two National Science Foundation (NSF) grants related to games and simulations.

Karl has been a TEDx speaker, international keynote speaker, and is author of over a dozen LinkedIn Learning Courses. He has won numerous awards including being named one of LinkedIn’s Top Voices in Education, being named a Guild Master by the Learning Guild and recipient of the ATD Distinguished Contribution to Talent Development Award.

Jessica Briskin, Ph.D., is an associate professor and graduate coordinator in the Department of Technology, Analytics, & Workforce Learning at Commonwealth University, Bloomsburg, in Bloomsburg, PA. She teaches courses in instructional design, authoring, and visual design for learning. She is a published author; her research primarily focuses on design frameworks, online collaboration methods, and mobile and multimedia development regarding translating learning spaces into online spaces. She also consults with government, academic, and corporate institutions to provide training services that bring innovation, reliability, and sound solutions to each project.

Prior to joining Cargill, Christopher served in compliance roles within the financial / securities industry from 2002, giving him over 20 years of experience in the field. Christopher holds a BA from St. Olaf College and an MBA from Augsburg University.
