The Value of Vyond Community: 4 Members Share Their Stories

For many customers, though, Vyond isn’t just a video creation platform. It’s also the thriving worldwide community of creators, learning professionals, and communicators who use it. 

The Vyond Community provides access to exclusive templates and tutorials, a direct line to the product team, and a supportive space to exchange ideas. Here, members can share works in progress, get feedback from peers and Vyond experts, and find inspiration for future projects.

Here’s what four active members say they value most about being Vyond Community members.

What are a few examples of tips, feedback, or shared resources from the Community that have made your work easier – or better?

Kennedy: I’m the only person in my department with a subscription to Vyond. Being the sole user can be isolating, especially when I find myself in a creative rut. The “Learn and Share” space has helped me numerous times by prompting me to rethink my approach to a Vyond project. Likewise, the Studio Sessions and Community Office Hours have helped me feel more connected to the team that makes the magic happen.

The Vyond staff maintain a strong and helpful presence within the Community, which makes me feel like I can be a better champion for Vyond and have more of a voice in the product’s future development.

Adam: One of the biggest benefits of the Community has been seeing how other creators approach storytelling and learning engagement. It’s easy to become focused on the way you build videos, but seeing examples from people working in different industries can spark new ideas. 

Specifically I’ve picked up tips around camera movement, scene composition, AI-powered features and workflow enhancements that have improved both the quality of my videos and the speed at which I can create them. More recently I’ve enjoyed the discussions around Text to Video and Document to Video. Seeing how others use these features gave me the confidence to experiment with my own projects and rethink part of my development process. 

Star: I love the templates — especially the e-Learning template that was shared recently. I also appreciate the Learn and Share section of the Vyond Community. I get so much inspiration from other Community members’ videos!

Rance: I really like reading through people’s feedback — the features they’re hoping for, wishing for, and even the problems they’re having. It’s a great place to commiserate a little bit, but it’s also exciting because there are always new things coming down the pike. It’s a fun way to see what’s important to other creators and what might be coming next.

What are the most memorable or impactful Vyond projects you’ve worked on–and why?

Rance: One of the most recent projects I’ve done — and one I’m really proud of — is a video I produced using the new Storybook characters. Finding backgrounds that really matched those characters was a lot of fun, and I think the style communicates really well to an audience where there had been a bit of a gap before. I’m really glad Vyond filled that gap and gave us this new style to work with.

I’ve gotten a lot of traction on that video from my intended audience, which is salespeople. It’s been really rewarding to see that it’s making a difference in my own business.

Kennedy: My most impactful Vyond project helped promote a corporate giving campaign benefiting United Way. The organization I worked for is consistently among the top donors to our local campaign, and it was important that we maintain that level of giving as the 2024 campaign approached.

To support this goal, I created an explainer video detailing how employees could support United Way through our various giving opportunities. Vyond provided unique ways to visualize how the cost of everyday activities could be translated into meaningful impact for United Way beneficiaries. Through this video and other campaign efforts, the company was able to make the second-largest donation (4 million dollars), despite having significantly fewer local employees than the other top-ranking corporations that year.

Star: I’ve created videos sharing the personal stories of members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Using Vyond’s animation allows people to remain anonymous. I hope that other members of the community feel more understood and less alone hearing from people experiencing things similar to what they experience. I’ve used these videos in LGBTQIA+ diversity training.

Adam: As a learning professional in the insurance industry, many of my projects involve helping people understand complex processes, compliance requirements and customer conversations. One of the most impactful projects I’ve worked on involved creating simulated frontline interactions to help teams develop confidence before taking live calls. Rather than telling people what to do, we created realistic situations where learners could see behaviors, decisions and outcomes play out. 

The impact came from making learning feel authentic and relatable. Feedback consistently showed that people valued seeing realistic scenarios that reflected their day to day work.

What platform features do you find the most helpful in the flow of work?

Kennedy: The text-to-speech voice options. There was a time when I had to use external AI voice-generation tools to create studio-quality audio and then import it into Vyond. Now that these capabilities are available within the platform, I can develop content more efficiently. 

Adam: Text to Video has had the biggest impact on my workflow over the past year. Being able to take a script and rapidly create a visual first draft dramatically reduces development time – and helps stakeholders see the vision much earlier. More recently, I’ve been impressed by Document to Video and AI avatars. Together they create opportunities to transform static content into something much more engaging. 

From a day to day productivity standpoint I also love smaller enhancements such as Copy and Paste Camera across scenes. Features like this might sound simple but they save valuable time and help me stay focused on the story rather than repetitive production tasks.

Rance: A recent update I’m absolutely crazy about is Camera Copy & Paste. I love that feature! My students at the School of Story Design had been asking for it for a long time, and now we have it. Thank you so much!

Star: I love that Vyond added the asset view. It makes it so much easier to select elements that are underneath other elements.

If the Vyond Community disappeared tomorrow, what would you miss most?

Star: I would miss interacting with others in learning and development who share my passion for educational videos!

Adam: Absolutely the people and connections. There’s something genuinely valuable about being part of a community where people are willing to share ideas, showcase their work, celebrate their successes and help each other improve. The community reminds me that we’re all ultimately trying to create better experiences for our audiences, whether that’s training, communications, marketing, or education. There’s always something new to learn from someone else’s perspective. 

Kennedy: The other users. As mentioned, I rarely encounter other Vyond users despite it being such a powerful tool and one of the best on the market. Without this space, finding opportunities for knowledge sharing and collaboration would be much more challenging.

Rance: My peeps! My fellow Vyond producers. I love staying in touch with people throughout the week and seeing what everyone is working on. That’s what I’d miss most. So…don’t take it away. 🙂
