Challenge

After Salesloft acquired Drift, the conversational AI company, the company’s identity evolved. What was formerly known as a revenue workflow platform for sales teams quickly became the premier end-to-end revenue orchestration platform, closing the gap between sales and marketing and allowing go-to-market teams to orchestrate a hyper-personalized, omnichannel buyer journey at scale. As a result, Salesloft leadership decided the company needed a new narrative to match the new market offering. 

It was up to Salesloft’s Sr. Revenue Learning Manager Andrés Rivera to rally sellers around the new narrative and start speaking the new language. 

“Our team’s job was to take the new Salesloft narrative from a presentation slides format, which contained a lot of new ideas and hefty new terminology, and translate it into an engaging learning experience for team members,” Andrés said. “I had used Vyond at my previous company and knew it’d be a great fit for the challenge.”

Approach

Andrés partnered with the marketing team to transform content from the slides into a script that told the story of Salesloft’s evolution through a salesperson’s perspective, using a Star Wars theme to aid in the storytelling and to draw the audience in. 

Andrés used the Contemporary style for scenario-based storytelling, with interludes of an AI avatar and mixed media elements to provide additional context.

“I had saved an earlier interview clip of our CEO on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. He did an amazing job of telling our story, so it was a perfect fit here,” Andrés said.

All told, the hour-long course included 10 Vyond videos that Andrés hosted on Salesloft’s new LMS, Mindtickle.

How Vyond Helped

Upon launch, the course was rolled out to the entire 180-person revenue team and was 100% completed.

The ultimate goal was for sellers to consistently use language from the new narrative in their conversations with customers and prospects, something the team can monitor and analyze with the Salesloft platform. After the completion of the training, the team saw a significant increase in the use of the terms. And Vyond was a major contributor in helping the team elevate and deliver an amazing learner experience. “I definitely could not have delivered this experience without using Vyond,” Andrés said.

Based on the course’s success in the revenue organization, leaders asked for the course to be rolled out to all employees. The quality of the content had colleagues taking notice: “My marketing teammate was floored to hear that I created the content. They thought we hired a third party,” Andrés laughed. “That was the highest compliment!”
